Board of Directors & Trustees

The Board of Directors is the highest decision-making body within the self-administration of a health insurance fund. All strategic and corporate policy decisions are made in cooperation with the Board of Directors. Members are elected every six years by the insured and employers. The members work for BKK EWE on a voluntary basis. The tasks of the Board of Directors are set out in the articles of association. These include adopting the articles of association and other autonomous rights as well as approving the budget.

The confidants establish contact with BKK EWE at the request of the insured person, thus creating a local bond with the health insurance fund. Their tasks include forwarding information between the insured and the health insurance fund and supporting the company health insurance fund in matters relating to workplace health promotion.

The confidants perform their duties on an honorary basis as elders of insured persons within the meaning of § 2a of the Articles of Association of BKK EWE.
