Electronic health card
The electronic health card (eGK)
Every insured person has an electronic health card (eGK). By attaching a photo, your card becomes unmistakable and is even better protected against misuse. In addition to the obligatory photograph, the eGK contains only the insured person's master data as a mandatory part. The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is printed on the back of the card.
Upload photo online
In order to issue the electronic health card, we need a picture of you in which you can be recognized without a doubt. You can conveniently send us the picture via our upload portal.
Improved communication
In the future, the eGK will help improve communication between all those involved in healthcare. Other functions will include the electronic prescription, which will replace today's paper prescriptions in pharmacies. Information on emergency care data, data on the patient's drug tolerance, the so-called electronic patient file and data on services used can then also be stored on the eGK on a voluntary basis.
Please remember to present your health card each time you visit a doctor or dentist.
