Travel costs
Safe transport in any case
We will cover the travel costs for you by medically necessary means of transport (less the legally stipulated co-payment)
The following trips can be taken over
- Rescue trips to the hospital,
- Transportations with the ambulance
Fahrten, die deshalb notwendig sind, weil Sie
- are treated as full or partial inpatients in the hospital,
- give birth in the hospital,
- participate in an inpatient preventive cure or rehabilitation measure or
- go to an outpatient surgery that avoids an inpatient stay.
Trips for outpatient treatment because you are
- have to travel for dialysis treatment or oncological chemotherapy or radiation therapy,
- you have a severely disabled person's ID card with the symbol "BI", "aG" or "H",
- have care degree 4 or 5,
- have care degree 3 and are permanently restricted in their mobility as confirmed by a doctor.

Please send us the ordinance well in advance of the planned trip so that we can approve it.
Preauthorization is not required for the following trips, as they are authorization-free trips:
- Trips to full/partial inpatient hospital treatment,
- Trips to pre/post inpatient treatment,
- Trips to outpatient treatment by taxi/hire car with characteristic signs
"aG", "BI", "H", care degree 3 with permanent mobility impairment,
care degree 4 or 5 and
- Trips to inpatient hospices.
We cannot cover the travel costs if
- it is a return transport from abroad.
- the requirements for trips for outpatient treatment are not met.
- the prescription has not been approved by us before the trip.
- there is no compelling medical reason for the trip, such as trips to coordinate appointments, request medical reports, or pick up prescriptions.
- the costs of the chosen medical treatment are not covered.
