Household help
Support during and after the disease
Insured persons receive household assistance if it is not possible for them to continue running the household due to a hospital or spa stay or due to an acute illness. The prerequisite is that no person living in the household is able to continue it and at least one child under the age of 14 lives in the household.
Support even after treatment
Insured persons also receive household assistance if they are unable to continue running the household due to serious illness or due to acute aggravation of an illness, in particular after a stay in hospital, after an outpatient operation or after outpatient hospital treatment, but for no longer than four weeks. It is not necessary for a child to live in the household for this benefit.
In these cases, you have the option of having the household help provided by a person you trust, in which case an appropriate hourly rate will be paid. Under certain conditions, the loss of earnings and travel expenses incurred for close relatives can also be reimbursed. The household help can also be provided by a professional care service.
