Artificial insemination
Hope for own offspring
Every tenth marriage in Germany remains childless. Medical reasons sometimes make it impossible to get pregnant naturally. In this case, artificial insemination can help to achieve a pregnancy.
Requirements
In order for us to contribute to the costs of artificial insemination, the following conditions in particular must be met:
- The couple must be married.
- The insured persons have reached the age of 25; however, they have not yet reached the age of 40 (women) or 50 (men).
- According to medical findings, there must be a reasonable prospect that the measures will result in pregnancy.
- If the measure has already been carried out three times without success, the reasonable prospect of success is no longer deemed to exist.
Cost absorption and subsidy up to € 1,000.00
For artificial insemination, 50 percent of the costs for the services provided for by law are covered. As an insured person of BKK EWE, you will also receive a subsidy of up to € 1,000.00 for treatment attempts within the framework of in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). Each spouse insured with us receives this subsidy for a maximum of 3 treatment attempts.
Support from BKK Kinderwunsch
You can also get support from the BKK Kinderwunsch program.
Do you have any questions?
The Federal Ministry for Family Affairs provides information on an information portal about the possible reasons, causes and consequences of involuntary childlessness and informs affected couples about the available counseling services.
In addition to easy-to-understand information materials, the portal offers an extensive database of local counseling centers. In addition, couples can use the funding check to find out whether and where they can apply for a financial subsidy for infertility treatment.
